Chained dreams and unchained reality

Dreaming myself alive again
I look outside my rusted cage
I see my little world surrounded by haze
So betrayed by faith
The others stand so tall and straight
Why was it always my mind that strayed?
Standing alone outside chained heaven’s gate
That’s all what my destiny portrays
Maybe I’ll have my time again
When the hammer strikes and freedom is all that would remain
No it’s just another day, another ordinary day
Sleep my inner child again
And dream to be alive again!

Opening my eyes to the sudden striking sound
I see the doors open and chains broken
Slipping into the valley of question
Fighting reason, doubt and inhibition
I carry myself towards the gates of freedom
Today I stand tall and straight
Without wings, I fly so high
Refusing to sleep, I touch the sky
This is what my destiny is
And there is no other day than today
Rejoice my inner child again
For today I’m alive again!
