Chowk Press February 19, 2007

Tags: indo-pak , joint-talks , terrorism , samjhota express , train service , bomb blast

Bomb blasts on Samjhota Express claimed over 65 lives and injured another 55 on Sunday night. Both India and Pakistan have condemned this act which appeas to have been timed to disrupt a high level meeting between the foreign
ministers of the two countries.

President Musharraf said in a statement, "We will not allow elements which want to sabotage the ongoing peace process to succeed in their nefarious designs." Instead, he said, the "heinous crime" would have the opposite effect.

India has also not pointed fingers and PM Manmohan Singh has assured "The culprits will be caught."

Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri arrives in India on Tuesday to meet with his counterpart Pranab Mukherjee to continue the talks on India-Pakistan Joint Commission, a series of talks on issues such as Kashmir, economic and commercial cooperation, terrorism and drug trafficking, known as the "composite dialogue."
