Façade of Pseudo Feminism

Feminism which is a simple notion of rationality has been blown out of proportions only because women rights are still a fragile deal in the larger world. The society - Western society
that is - has become the foremost bastion of activism for equal rights for women. Women have increasingly taken control of their own lives all for the good to their gendered empowerment. The underdeveloped parts of the East, where most of the times basic human rights are violated in the guise of acute poverty or sheer social exploitation, women are the prime causality for such social and economic injustices. Bringing solace to the lives of physically, socially and economically abused women makes all the more sense and thus all well planned campaigns of gender sensitization are apt to work upon with vigor and passion.

Nevertheless, the attention should also be drawn to the pseudo Feminism in the garb of women rights which has taken its roots some time ago in the West and has thrown a very simple and urgent issue of women empowerment into a spiral of confusion and conflict. Women rights have become another tragedy of commons in social anthropology of urban activism.

Though questioning is the more rational action for human progress, one may need to re think the approach some gendered studies and proponents of feminism have adopted for the sake of multiplying the complexity of rather simple ideas of humanity only to break into so-called and self-proclaimed masculine intellectual monopoly dominating the knowledge base and thus hoping to favorably influence over the minds of their direct and indirect audiences.

One may agree to some extent to the feminist approach that indeed human psychology needs a revisit to modify the perception of feminine behavior constructed over thousands of years of social abuse of feminine side of human beings. A simple idea of democratic orientation of a society based on tolerance and respect of others may address it quite aptly. Every individual is different and thus every behavior is mostly exogenous to the trivial methodologies of feminine ideology which even questions the basic and entirely sensible practices of differentiation. It is just a coincidence that a girl is called a girl and a boy is called a boy. It is simple biological constraint that a man is physically stronger than a woman. The physical construction of genders has lead to certain differentiation formats between both sexes and would always have a role to play in individual life styles of any sex.

The façade of such feminist rhetoric which tries to prove men as inferior to their opposite sex based on women’s historic contribution to the progress in social human evolution is an intellectual mal practice one may like to do without. The injustice of social constructions have not only exploited women but any one on the lower ladders of economic, social and ethnic class. Thus to adopt extreme gendered stance against the injustices and biasness of such social and economic orders which were coincidentally dominated by the actions of men as an outcome of less scientific human history where survival depends upon physical power than intellectual prowess does not follow wisdom of high standards.


Every feminist critique tries to expose the hypocrisy of sciences which have traditionally been dominated by male contributors. The feminists claim to bring a feminist perspective to any relevant intellectual contribution in human society. Such demand and effort is quite reasonable if taken up in a purely intellectual domain and not allowed to be used as a political fodder to some skewed and conflicting campaign much like the same way feminist accuse that all the good ideas are psychologically been abused through misrepresentations and misinterpretations so they can only be utilized for the good of men. Now many feminists have unconsciously or consciously put themselves in the same situation where an urge to outclass the opposing argument has blind folded their rational thought process. Pseudo feminism unlike positive feminism is guilty of bringing disaccord to human social lives rather then contributing more to the good of every one.


For example can pseudo feminism positively influence their follower’s hypocrisy and eliminate their urge to carry out perpetual psycho analysis of surroundings much through hearsay or commonly witnessed practice of creating and spreading of disinformation? Such human urges come out due to usual self contained biasness upon an issue carried by any misperceived feeling of self correctness and thus also must have corrupted many a feminist mindsets . Hypocrisy and self lies are more interesting and colorful for an average monotonous urban life style as to bring some good amount of entertainment and wit to some bored minds of both genders in their daily lives. Well pseudo feminism of emotional opposition to natural differentiation between men and women is a similar urban process active due to the mischief within us and is more of a monkey talk than bringing any positive social change to the society.

Most women who have blindly bought ideas of female sexual domination have become the causality themselves. Such followers of pseudo feminism are fighting against the system of natural selection while at the same time questioning life long philosophy dominated by the contributions of their opposite sex- be it religion, aesthetics, architecture or corporate practices. Contradictions have taken away the feminine appeal of these women. It may be a victory in feminist philosophy to bring confusion to sexual orientations, but then many feminine choices fails to satisfy their own social demands of interaction with the opposite sex in their every day lives. For example if a man would pay the bill for his girl friend, is he treating her well or is it a masculine exposition of power? If both pay their own bill, would it still be romantic and aesthetic or a mechanical choice of insensitivity? If a woman pays the bill, would she sacrifice her emotional and romantic choice of being taken care of by her loved one?

Definitely the questions above are very trivial in nature but such reasoning forms the very foundations of many a Western feminist movements of contemporary times and indeed most arguments of gender studies which question minute details of social anthropology as a masculine conspiracy are quite shallow too. These days common psychology is not build upon books but through a subtle exposure to half cooked ideas in popular media in the garb of entertainment. I

It is human psychology to deviate from the median to bring more interest to one’s life style, but once done and done by blindly following a popular opinion, one may realize that it is not as romantic and adventurous as it seem as then other contradictions of own self may soon catch up. It is not only in physics that every action has a reaction but it is true for any phenomenon in life. Thus it is no surprise that half cooked theories of pseudo feminism have failed to bring equality to the economical life of women in the Western societies which they deserve the most. There, women still earn less than men for the same amount of work. Neither, feminism has strengthened family orientation of an average Western household. Rather, a misinformed feminist cult has been formed which is exporting its twisted ideas of women independence and using the plight of women in developing countries as a good excuse.
