The Rape of the Nation

kashkin dabruski September 27, 2007

Tags: revolution , leaders , nation

The nation awaits
Not its messiahs and inspiration
Not from their leaders
Not from their politicians
So where to look
What to ask
The invisible hands
The unheard voices
Of people, in misery
And in pain, of sixty years
The unknown soldiers
Praying for change
The evident indifference
Of
our protectors,
Of our representations
The outsiders, the outsiders
The common man shouts!

The institutions are hollow
All what they are, all they have
Some for and some against
The ideals of democracy
The forceful mechanisms
Of extensions and legal ramblings
The drama and its circus
The process of change
the invented truths,
the birth of lies, on our screens

the common man,
and his times
the only certainty
the hunger,
the forgotten cause
the forgotten sacrifice

Will there be revolution
From hunger and disgust
From mistrust of years
Where are our historians
To record, to raise concerns
The rape of this nation

what can we do,
what do we stop,
there will come a time
where no words and logic
will hold any meanings
this nation will rise
to kill, to wipe away
those marks, the rape
of us, the poor nation

what will I do,
the revolution,
the clean up
the removal of feudalism
the removal of elites
the removal of all
for price worth paying for
the life and my words
the revolution of mind
I am not one but in millions
To start again, to born again!
