Reaction to “Twenty Three Students Expelled From Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad
Shattered dreams of a mother cry,
Dashed hopes of a young life,
Crushed by a heartless strike
Of a sharp edged poisonous knife.
Cutting through the fabric free
As there is no hand to impede.
These vicious cuts are tearing apart,
How long this state will last?
Those sitting on helm of affairs
Impotently
They hear those distressing cries.
They see anguish of those young lives.
But do they care?
Those on the helm of affairs?
And those carrying the daggers declare,
“We are the sole deciders, who will dare?
This is our motto, this is our adage:
We destroy those who hold different faiths.
We are sole deciders of what is good.
We are children of Hitler’s troops.
Those who dare to not follow our stance
Do it at their risk in our pure land.
We’ll see who can live here and thrive.
We hold in our hands this subsuming knife.
The bigotry, the intolerance, the hate,
Is that now our country’s fate?
Our forefathers are turning in grave,
For this we did not this country made.
