I Muster An Illusion

I muster an illusion
In vacant hours of day,
Where life is not a challenge,
Nor death the true reward,
Where time is not the ruler,
Nor change the fate of season,
A country yet unconquered
Sways before my eyes,
Where happy days of childhood
Forever stay as joyous!
Flowers that bloom and blossom,
Never wilt or wither,
Music is the language
And laughter, the spoken word!
No hearts are ever broken,
No pain is seen or heard,
Its life and life eternal,
The life I dream to live!

I touch the glowing aura…
The enchanting trance is broken!
Time passes and the seasons
Are left to ever change.
The final fruit of wisdom
Is a poisoned cup of wine
Death marks the only climax
Of wonder years that fade.
To soothe away my heartache
I embrace your memory
And muster an illusion
