Moonlit night
quiet
except for my footsteps
over gravelled road
My shadow (my companion)
and my thoughts
Dreams dissolved in the milky glow
And my desires
like infants just awakened
Voices long gone, perhaps now clearer
paying their overdue visits
I look at the dark trees around
me
Do they have a strength that I never had?
A resolve? A fidelity?
Somewhere deep within the cascading layers of leaves
that shimmer silently in the fluid light
lies something I seek?
