Happiness for the distances met,
Happiness, now to last…

Sadness for the time elapsed,

Sadness for the wounds that bled,
Sadness, deep and desolate…

When I see you again,
Will it be a moment of silence?
Silence for fate’s ruthless course,
Silence for the hopes long lost,
Silence for all words unsaid,
Silence for the bitter past,
Silence, bleak and bottomless…

Physical distances between loved ones are painful but bearable as hope lies in the existing space and time. But death imparts distances impossible to comprehend as hope is pushed beyond eternity and its becomes difficult to put feelings in some worldly perspective...
