A falcon understand?
How can the cries of a nightingale
An eagle comprehend?
The vultures, with their jagged claws
The raptors, with their fangs
How can the pain of a bleeding dove
Its hunter apprehend?
The holy man, the chanting saint
The
How can they lock you in your home
And say it’s God’s command?
Like birds of prey, with wings spread wide
And talons on demand
How can they hide, with a raven’s guile
Your teardrops in the sand?
The feudal man, the tribal gent
All parts of the same band
How can your worth, be, in their mind
No more, than a piece of land?
How can he clip, from the wings of life
Its innocent little strand?
How can he kill, his flesh and blood
With, a knife, in his own hand?
