During the past one year, I have been gaining weight for no apparent reason. Then I started feeling hungry over and over again. Get Hungry is a good sign ,I thought. Later, I started feeling fatigued. Time to consult a Doctor, somebody advised me. After much dilly-dalling, I finally went to a Medic.
"Appears to be a Thyroid malfunction", the Doc told me and advised some tests. The test revealed one particular level to be on the higher side. "Gotcha! I told you so" said the Doc. "Now I will prescribe some medicines which you have to eat daily". I asked the Doc what is it all about -the Thyroid malfunction? "Leave that to us, Do whatever you are told to do" said the Doc and pressed the bell for the next patient.
I started the medicine from the next day and in a day or two ,I found that my hunger is much reduced. After some days, my fatigue was also gone and I started feeling active and agile.
I kept pondering over the issue that what is it all about-gaining weight, then feeling hungry and then feeling exhausted and fatigued. Then you take a medicine and the reverse happens. Why?? And when you cant explain something through science, then one has to take refuge in the religion.
Hinduism believes in Trinity i.e. Brahma as creator, Vishnu as Preserver and Shiva as the destroyer( don’t think they are three separate Gods-they are three manifestations of a Single God to explain the things easily). Now Shiva is the destroyer of the worlds including us humans. One of his way of destroying humans is Thyroid Malfunction. He triggers the Thyroid and the person starts gaining weight. The weight gain will put pressure on his heart and at some point of tie the heart will collapse and the person will die. And the Dance of Shiva goes. But there is a problem. What if a smart human senses his weight gain and starts controlling his diet?? He will lose his weight. To prevent this ,Shiva increases his hunger. You can control everything but not your hunger-so the person will keep on eating and gaining weight. Now wait a minute. What if a really smart fellow keeps on eating but starts exercising, jogging , cycling etc. Then he will control his weight. To cut this, Shiva makes the person lazy, fatigued and exhausted. When the person is feeling exhausted , there is no question of his exercising. So the dance of Shiva is complete. There is no escape.
But Vishnu is the preserver. He can't just watch Shiva dancing. So He takes an incarnation. Incarnation in the form of the Pill which Doc advised for me. Vishnu goes inside, and first he controls the Hunger so that the weight gain is controlled. Then He makes the person active and agile. If the person is active, he will run around the whole day and keep control on the weight.
Now the question is –who will ultimately win?? Vishnu or Shiva?? As per mythology, Shiva is more powerful. He will cut the weapon of Vishnu and start something else so that His dance continues What will be that only time will tell.
So , for me it’s the time to rush to the feet of Bam Bam Bholey.
