Outside the city speaks, beats beeps bleeps and
breeds in Epileptic Technicolor.
Outside some lives flash
as some lights dance
While some lights flicker as
Some lives burn.
Witnessing bricks and surrounding buildings
Can only sulk in silent
jealousy.

Staring past the slur
Drowning in her voice. Staring
as she takes another pull.
Staring at the warm smoke snorkel in-between her golden curls.
Hands noisily search in thirsting
Vain.

Light bounces off the needles
Edge. The butane lighter bubbles
With the sound of laughter as
Brown water sloshes
From the spoon
Into a plastic barrel
Into a ribbed vein.

Like chitterlings boiling
on an open stove
Your pupils begin to dilate,
Eventually spilling over
and staining the whites of
Your eyes staring at a street as it melts into charcoal smiles.
