Four Poets: Four Poems

perfect moment by imran khan

we sit here together
but I am all alone
I drown in my thoughts
as you sing your songs
I think about how I look at you
there are different ways
different shades of you
your eyes say one thing
your smile something else
I search for that moment
when the
colours are pure
and the songs true
but then I wonder is it really you
or the charm of the perfect moment
that leaves me spellbound
for if I had a chance, and this is true
I would love you,
Alas
I only love
loving you!

My Soulmate Asma Fikri

What is a soulmate
Is he the man you wake up with for years
Is he the one who gave you his name
His children
His money
Whose silence has been your companion for an eternity

There is a man who lives deep within my man
He watches me from behind those serious eyes
I catch myself staring at him
Perturbed at the sudden rush I feel inside my blood
I blink, swallow hard, and then gaze again
Only to be faced with my own reflection

In times of trouble, when I am really down
I seek help, helplessly,
I look around like a scared little rabbit
Going out of my mind

In times as these,
The man within my man steps out
He hugs me hard and holds my hand
We hear my music, eat food I like
And best of all, he listens to me
His shoulder is the one I lean on
For it is not the shoulder of my man
The one I have lived with for years
It is the shoulder of my soul mate.

The Way You Loved Me... by Niranjan Regmi

Each time the wind blows,
I hear your voice, so i call your name,
And i am here standing, time goes by,
the seasons seem to change so fast,
But i am still the same.
Every night the stars shine,
I see the shine, i saw in your eyes,
And i find a shooting star,
Hoping my wish will come true,
I call to heaven and smile.
In the moonlight, i walk alone,
Feeling you by my side, so close.
Even though you are far away,
You seem closer everyday.
I am nostalgic, well its fine,
Just hope someday you will be mine.
The smile that you left in me, will never die,
And your Love so pure will never lie & am glad,
The way you loved me, if i was different,
Would have never be the same.

Behold by Fahd Butt

underground water gardens flow
sparkle angelic blue
flowers shaped of waterfalls
and dew laced grass
ever changing new scents
overtaking, awe-striking
intense sensations of never ending nature
all i feel i cannot know

what i behold:
my heaven

-yet-

if life were such as the love in you
i would not want to die
such a simple beauty
eloquent in silence
pure
a word not spoken but
a memory made complete

what i behold:
your eyes
