Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan the renowned Pakistani Singer, died Saturday, August 16 1997, at Cromwell Hopital, London, due to liver and kidney failure.

Chowk's inaugural issue featured Nusrat Fateh Ali prominently with a CD Review of "Shahbaaz" and a nomination
for the Pakistani that best represents the country in our Inaugural Survey. Also present is a tribute to Nusrat.
