Thank you Meester Bush

It seems that the focus of everyone’s attention in the last few weeks has been the war or "the war" as we know it. The war was not really about the oil; the US has genuine
concern about Iraqi civilians. And if civilians die - well we don’t call them civilian casualties anymore -its collateral damage. Democracy is not something to be taken lightly; you have to make some sacrifice. If a cruise missile makes you homeless, so what? If you start crying then you are not serious about democracy. Uncle Sam knows what’s good for you and you better believe him.

Anyway to most of us who were against such a venture, the pro-war people have been offering images currently being shown on TVs of the Iraqi people, specifically those whose lines are "Thank you Meester Bush". Which made me think that maybe there are positive benefits from the war after all.

For one Saddam Hussain is now on par with Elvis Presley and Osama Bin Laden - presumed dead but sightings still exist.

The anti nuclear lobby must be thanking its stars that the war has ended; the yanks tried to bomb Saddam to oblivion but were not sure if they were successful. As the military spokesman said "..We blew up the building as we had information that Saddam was there. We also bombed a restaurant as we had information that Saddam would be there. Reports seem to suggest that he escaped. Our next option is to nuke Eyerak – that way he can’t get away...". Fortunately that option looks a bit distant now.

There was positive news from Wall Street. I believe the Armament industry is a good investment – if you need to buy shares then this is a major stock tip for you folks here. Purely from an investor’s point of view there was nothing better than watching a B52 bomber going out on a bombing mission – war is horrible but someone has to make a profit. We understand your pain but if we don’t bomb you then our shares may go down. Nothing personal – only business.

Another positive benefit - Madonna withdraws latest video due to war – “Thank you Meester Bush”. And for health conscious people out there be aware that Baghdad’s newly installed mayor will be banning smoking in restaurants. And just consider the entertainment value of Comical Ali aka Minister for Information - Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, who according to unreliable sources is looking at a Hollywood career.

Now that Iraq is in the hands of the coalition the one advantage that Iraqi people have is that they do not need to immigrate to USA or Australia anymore - they are already a part of these countries. That’s a win-win situation, no more boat people for these countries and instant immigration for Iraqis. And this is also the first time Australia will be an occupying force in another country – of course the Aboriginal people probably have a different perspective.

As an side note does anyone know how the "Shock and awe" campaign got its name? Apparently these three words were the simplest for the prez to learn.

“now repeat after me George – shock and awe”
“aw shucks fellas do I have to?”
“Yes you do George..look its easy..instead of aw shucks, just say shock and awe..” As they say rest is history, so once again "thank you Meester Bush".

Sure I am anti war but who hears my protest, the article above is based on the radio show that a friend and I have on the local Indian station here. It my way of protesting.
