Somehow the ’Newsflash’ sign in our lives does not stop blinking.
A blast took place in Karachi on 7th May 2004 at the Sindh Madarsatul Islam which happens to be a Shia Mosque. It occurred after the khutba for Juma Prayers ended and the members of the congregation were about to proceed
with their prayers. Shortly after the blast there were people chanting outside and stoning cars. I believe it was their idea of ‘support’ for the injured ones.
News can only give out facts but what remains behind that thick veil of reality is what we don’t want to see because it is painful.
After this day...
Every time a person will step inside the Mosque, he will think twice before his action; it could be his last day.
Every time a person will step outside his house for prayers his relatives will be praying that he returns home safe and uninjured.
All those who have suffered today (rich and poor) will lose the little hope that may have existed in their hearts in order to support their families in a country that is drowning in the slums of poverty and illiteracy. Instead, a deep hatred will be manifested inside them which will result in hate, rage and resentment.
If the men, who come from families who do not have working women in their houses and are the pillars of financials support in their homes, would have been seriously injured will not be able to be of any use to their family members due to which a number of dependent people will also be adversely affected.
A Maulana whose way of serving God is the calling for prayers everyday, will be hesitant to do so. After all, no matter how strong your fate is; your life is as precious to you as anyone else.
Every citizen, from child to adult, will feel a fear deep inside them at the intensity of how insecure a place can be.
--
My mind has been analyzing the situation and going over the details over and over. There are flashes of what i saw on television. The walls covered in blood. People severely injured being rushed to the hospital and waiting for the doctors to attend to them.
All this only makes me wonder if there is an end to this chaos.
What’s more to come and what truth will be left unsaid in our daily news belletins. The reality of the lives who breathe through the riots of this country.
