As we look around today we see a lot of opportunities around us; all we need to do is to open our eyes to see what we really intend to do. Just capturing these opportunities for one’s benefit cannot be praised.
Every place has the potential to provide its residents with some or the other form
of opportunity but what is really important is how much advantage you can take of it. Opportunities are like shooting stars, if you can make your wish at the right time you always have this strong feeling of happiness in you but if your mates saw it and you didn’t, then you feel like you have missed something.
Let’s take China for example. It was just like Nepal a few decades ago: a weak economy, no stability in its financial status but now it is one of the most supreme countries in the world. It was in bad shape. But there came a few brilliant minds whose ideas and methodologies proved to be the most effective tool to revolutionize the country’s economy and to strengthen all socio-economical factors.
All we see today is that Nepal’s manpower is running out. We hear everyday about people leaving for foreign soil for better opportunities. Who said Nepal cannot provide opportunities? China and Japan didn’t provide people with opportunities a few decades ago yet today they stand as models for all developing nations.
If we continue to escape our soil, where we grew up and where we learnt to use our hands, who is going to take care of it? Today we are proud because we have our country, because we can say we belong from the country of Mt. Everest. If tomorrow we run out of all the resources and manpower, then who can change the country into a better place to live in? What do you think you will call yourself if our country doesn’t exist anymore?
We all want to succeed and to have a stable and wonderful life ahead and we do our best to make it come true. why is it that some people get what they want so easily while the others struggle and in vain to get to where they always dreamed of? This is one big question that troubles everyone’s mind some way or the other. It is not my intention to prove my knowledge or what I say is hundred percent true but it is my small effort to make you realise how one can work for himself to create opportunities and consequently benefit his country.
What we need to perceive in today’s world is: how one can produce opportunities for oneself and for the rest? If there exist some predefined chances and opportunities then everyone is bound to choose that. What is important is how creative you can become to make your life dynamic through a series of changes that you can bring in your society through your contribution. How effectively and efficiently you can motivate yourself to do better and to prove yourself different from the rest.
Opportunities are everywhere we just need that insight to find out and to think what can be done in the present conditions irrespective of what you can get from the pre-existing situation.
Think about different generations and how they have contributed to the country and how we stand in the soil of 21st century. If you can think well you will realize what your role for the country is -- how you can contribute, how you can shoulder the burden of the nation so as to see a brighter tomorrow.
The time has come for us to stand against the challenges. This is not the time to see your sole benefit but to open our eyes to climb one step up in development and economic growth. This cannot be achieved if we continue to see green notes as the supreme desire. It is time for us to see within ourselves and to realise how much we have contributed and how much more can be done to carry our nation to the next century. It is time for us to put our minds together and think hard for the nation for there is no one else who will do that for Nepal.
