Another day descends into its history
Of bloodshed, ignorance and plunder
Who shall we blame, the west or Islam
Who shall we blame, ourselves or others
What we have done, what have we achieved
Nothing but a trail of split lines,
Another day in the history of this land,
Forgiveness and understanding not a virtue
What is it we practice if not tolerance?
Where are those signatures of peace?
Where are those hands that can uphold?
The virtues of unity and tolerance
Let’s not fight, let’s not create
More days of darkness than light
We shall we blame, ourselves or others
Wake up from this slumber
Of divided loyalties and causes
Of no significance it carries
We leave this world not with
Lands, greed and power
But with empty hands and deeds
Another day descends into its history
Tired and in sorrow, our hearts
From its mechanics of its affairs
Who shall we blame, ourselves or others
What have we learnt, if nothing at all
From this madness and of its destruction!
