I walked into a room today thinking what if,

What if the spoken had not been uttered

And the sounds of silence prevailed forever

What if you and I had fallen...

And had walked hand in hand bathing in the moonlight

Would it have mattered then?

Should it matter now?-

That a breeze of your cologne

like the first bloom of spring

caresses the air around me?

That I look up, expecting your laugh

your smile in every corner,

But that it isn't, you aren't?

What if, what if the truth really hurts

And this becomes a one sided affair?
