Fairytale Besmirched

Jan 17, 2007

“Right here, right now!”
Said he, and looked me in the eye,
My heart skipped a beat,
Felt the blood gush up my feet.

He came closer,
The next moment we embraced,
I heaved a sigh of relief,
Rising above all the grief.

He made the next move,
Kissing me on the lips
He led me to the door,
He raised his hand and I raised mine,
In a gesture of goodbye.

This is life, dear friend,
Where failure is a trend,
Fairytales here are bygones,
Nevertheless, they say,
’Tis better to have loved and lost,
Than never to have loved at all.
