Finally the silence has ended which had sparked rumors that popularity surrounding Noori was a short lived phenomenon and band won’t able to sustain their initial success.
Nearly two and half years after their debut release suno ke main hoon Jawan Noori has come out of exile and have launched their rejuvenation with their second album titled rather astutely or maybe just spontaneously “Peeli Patti ur Raja Jani ki Gol Duniya”. With this Album Band have shuffled their line up. Ali Hamza is now the new Bassist following departure of Mohd Ali Jaffri. The Album has been mixed and mastered by Meekal Hasan at Digital Fidelity Studios and has been produced by Ali Noor.
Well the album kicks off with “Nishaan” a highly upbeat and lively rock number. Drums in this song are fantastic and guitars complement them. This song would give youth a lot of leeway in banging their heads. I also think that lyrics of this song are very reflective. Then next in line is “Khalla” which was one of the unreleased songs of Noori on internet. This song has been revamped and sounds much better than the original one
“Mein” is one of the new tracks in the album. It has a very catchy beat which makes it very likable. The only criticism regarding this song is lyrics which are very plain. Then comes “Peeli Patti’ which is the title track of the album. When you listen to this song at first instance it seems very childish but with time it starts growing on you and you truly realize depth of lyrics within the song. Overall it’s a funky song but can’t be given status of a tile track.
With “Jo Meray” Hamza makes a Solo appearance with vocals. It is a very melodious track and states caliber of Hamza as a Vocalist and Composer. His voice seems soothing and it really tempts you to get immersed in the song. “Sari raat” was another unreleased song on internet. It is a very heavy Rock song with lot of intensity. It was always popular among youth and with its release it would be a high concert preference. “Ooncha” is probably one of the best tracks produced by Noori. Ali Azmat has also done guest vocals on it which makes it even more impressive. It was also leaked out on the net but band has not tinkered with it.
“Arzoo” is a slow track which picks up tone and momentum as song moves on. “Mere Log” starts in mode of Jana tha humne but turns into a fabulous mellow track. Lyrics of this song are penned very nicely. It is very well sung by Hamza who provides an extra feel to it. Album is closed with Kuttay an aggressive and speedy punjabi rock song. It is a pretty average track by Noori standards and most people would probably skip it.
It seems that Noori is now evolving from being carefree and exuberant Jawans to more mature and pragmatic individuals.
