Truth vs. Lie
By: Summaiya

Dear truth, your soul seems to me so pure,
I, a lie, covered with nothing but dark mist,
Dear truth, naked you are, bare minimum you wore,
I, a lie, wearing thick apparel, to the goal assist.

Dear lie, your soul is pure too,
I, as truth, find covered only the flesh,
Dear
lie, you wear so much to hide,
Truth, believes you do so to avoid a clash.

Dear truth, so honest is your reply,
Many words eaten in my speech, for I am a lie,
Dear truth, nothing from me you have kept hidden,
Then why a similar disclosure to me is forbidden?

Dear lie, I only have to read between the lines,
To find the words, you have missed out,
Amongst the wrong, the few rights brightly shine,
You whisper the truth, but lies you shout.

Dear truth, today I tried to seek you in me,
And deep within, you were discovered,
But when opened my mouth to scream it out,
Every word, strangely still came out covered.

Dear truth, is it my nature or my name?
That to admit openly, is the one thing I cannot do,
Is the truth, too a lie? Is that its cause to fame?
Is that why I cannot speak the truth to you?

Dear lie, speaking the truth is what you have done,
Although vague, but I have heard and I now know,
Someday, I believe you will discontinue to run,
That day, lies would be your only foe.

Dear truth, if I am a lie, then, am I my own foe?
If I stop running, then where would I be? Where would I go?
Dear truth do you want me for who I am;
Or is change the only alternative? What a sham!

Dear lie, your existence, I have come to accept,
Your lies and my truths is what I expect,
I would strive to instill the bravado in you,
I’ll wait for those honest hours, those very few!

Dear truth, if I tell you, that for you I care;
Would you in my words believe?
I, being a lie - would you from acceding to, fear?
Or would you sift my words, and use a sieve?

Dear lie, is this what’s true, or is it too a lie?
Is the answer itself going to be honest or not?
If this is the truth, then what was the lie?
Then truths and lies, together fought?

Dear truth, this reaction I suspected before,
And you said, you saw the truth in the core (heart),
If you saw and comprehended all, why the faith now dies?
Goodbye truth, for its you who is a lie!
