muslim rajputs from districts of Rohtak,Gurgaon,Hissar,Karnal are Ranghars.The districts were part of Northwest Provinces till 1857 but transferred to punjab as punishment for rebelling against brits in 1857 , while punjab had remained loyal.now ranghars are settled in punjab in areas between chenab and sindh province and have about 10 or so members in national assembly.Meos from Gurgaon are also like ranghars and are in majority in kasur district.Another similar bramch kaimkhanis and khanzada rajputs are from gurgaon and jaipur state and now settled in sindh.they too have some MNAs and MPAs in Sindh.Ranghars have quota in tank corps and infantry in pakistan army , about 35 % in tanks and about 7 to 8 % in infantry.ranghars from rohtak were the main leaders of 3rd light cavalry which captured delhi on 11th may 1857

this is first world war and against the turks.only pashtuns from trival areas and ranghars rebelled and refused to fight against turks,rest all soldiers of indian army were loyal to brits.
