love the subtle use of colors. some of these remind me of the paintings of salvador dali and remedios varo.

WOW!
Amazing!!

Heavy influence of VanGogh and Gauguin there, though not exactly impressionistic. Traces of Chagall too!

What are the sources of your inspiration, Hafiz?

Ur photography is below ameture level.. either u go and learn it or leave it aside for them who know this skill.. and those descriptionssss... which kind of art work was that? which needs explainationss to create interest and waste time? ur paintingzz.. well stop exploiting the misery of human beingz.. try to see thingz with a layman’s eye.. then probably u can produce somthing worthwhile.. or chose some other field if u can’t... no hard feelingz buddy..

Dear Umer,

Here is the answer to your questions, first I am not sure if you realize that I added many new picture on this show,
Well, I dont use any refrence for figure work, I use to go to park and study drug addict and alcholics, because I find it facinating to se how they site and respond in their body language, this subject was to share supressed feelings, these paintings are done in oil on canvas no tricks at all, I use ball point pen to draw on canvas, beacuse it wont smear and wont mix with oil (charcoal makes the color mudy thats why) also I dont do any sketches, I draw directly on canvs to keep it fresh aproach to the composition, ball point pen keep the drawing for ever.
Well my other trick is I dont mix my paint in the plate I do it on the canvas, I also use best quality paint and cold press linseed oil,
I have nothing to hide, willing to share every bit,
You can come over and watch me paint if you like;-), The more I share the more I get from God;-)

Howdy Hafeez,

My last post wasn’t put on for some reason. Anyway, I’ve forgotten the questions I had posed earlier.

Now I know good magicians don’t like giving away their secrets but I’d be very interested to know how you went about doing some of those works. My favourite is hyman faces so I would like to know more about it. Oils, acrylics, how large, how did you get that ’ublofying a photographic picture’ effect etc. etc.

Take care

Dear Scout and snow,

Actually come to think of it, I don’t know why everyone likes this stuff. It’s old and rubbish. What’s so good about flowers. I’m much better than him.

i like Spring Dance. It would look amazing in a sun room, you know, the rooms that have a lot of glass walls and windows in them to let the sun in. I would pay $50 or better yet buy a $10 print, cheapskate that I am.

Scout,

My personal favourites are Autumn and Human Face ’cos I love the rustic colours and it’s got a real ’finished look’ to it. As for the exhibition, it’s quite an old one, Scout. In fact, I think this was the very first thing I saw on Chowk back in the days when it was a warm and fuzzy website.

Hafeez was also on ContactPakistan.com where he had exhibited some other works also. This was yonks ago. The thing is, I don’t know how to access his details now.

And where is Hafeez? It would be nice if he could be on the forum and talk more on his techniques as well as his other works.

And hey, what’s with the cheapo attitude??? I thought you were a grade 1 healthcare professional??? Scout, if you want good originals but aren’t willing to pay the price, then barter with an artist (provide them free services; after all, you folks are very expensive also :)).

i agree with scout about indigo fields and naked, but i also liked the human faces in a circle. Indigo fields reminded me of Van Gogh. I’m not saying it is like a Van Gogh, it just reminded me of so many of his paintings.

Umer #7,

honestly, it would depend on the size, medium used, and quality of the work. i wouldn’t buy it without seeing the actual artwork.

as for price, u can’t really put a number on it, depends on how much the artist wants and how much you want to own the artwork.

if these paintings are the standard oil on canvas, i would (at this poor stage in my life) pay in the lower hundreds.

can’t afford anything more

as for buying original artwork, i make it a point not to buy prints, only original paintings/drawings, no matter how good or bad they may be.
i HATE prints

Scout, Snow,

Just out of interest, what sort of prices would you be willing to pay for those works? Also, have you ever bought artworks off anyone?

hi,
i liked the flower ones. are these for sale ? what materials were used ?
thank you

Just a thought - maybe make the images copyright protected so that people can’t save or download them without your seal on it? Atleast this way you get credit for your work...
