(Piyaar diyaan)Howllan

One day you wake up and you find every body around you, you’ve been missing.
Brothers from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi reached home simultaneously, they had planned it. They all were here for one day only but they did not tell Ammi & Abba about this. In after noon, all of sudden I was handed over a list of required things for that evening. It must be very special, I thought. Well! I was not expecting that list at all. They had planned for howllan party and for that I needed to get Green Grams (a.k.a. Sabz Channay). Gujranwala is a not as developed as other cities but still it’s a big city and I had no hope to get the special Sabz-Channay which are bit golden and hard. Asal mein Sabzi Mandi mein tou saari taaza sabziyaan houti hein. aur howllan k liye especially zara pakkey how channay chaayie houtey hein. Anyhow, I got those required brand of grams with the help of a friend living in near village.
Wow! There was fire at the top of the roof. Maan G put all channas on fire .. It was amazing sight and when every thing was burned and Grams were just roasted then all of us sat in circle around the burned channas and started picking hot channas from the ash to eat it. A long session of old memories ended after maghrib and by then every one had black hands and face due to ash every where. In the eve, every one returned to respective destination.

In ka color sabz houta hey. yehi sabz channey jab zara pakk kar golden aur hard ho jaen tou yeh howllan banaaney k liye ready ho jaatey hein. Jab yeh channay apni hi aag mein jall rahey thay aur us k baad yeh mazedaar ho gaey tou sab ney in ko jali hoi khaak mein sey chun chun kar khaya. Buhat maza aaya… youn he mujhey yaad aaya k jaisey yeh channey ki howllan hein jin ko jala kar hum phir iss ki siva(ash) mein hum daaney dhoond kar khaatey hein…issi tarah kabhi piyaar ko be jala kar hum uss ki howllan enjoy kartey hein…piyaar ki ash mein sey daaney dhoondtey hein aur aik aik kar k khaaatey hein.
