As Kipling noted ("If"), treat both success and defeat the same way - as imposters. I think this is a good observation: These are indeed imposters since they do not reflect your true abilities.
Success can go to your head - make you think you are better than you are - as the Greeks said, those whom the gods would destroy they first make proud.
Defeat teaches you what you are doing wrong. And that which does not destroy you makes you stronger.
