Here and There

Hello, been away for a long time - well work got to be very hectic and had no time to amble through Chowk. So much has happened in and around me in the meantime, in varied tastes of good, bad n ugly. Trying to find (or attempt to finding) a saner world for myself and my family and friends. I somehow feel kind of new to this place, but I want to write something as well

Family
All doing fine, my sis would be visiting my parents and her in-laws in the next month or two
Healthwise, Father is slightly more sensitive than he was before, the good part he has resumed socialising
Rahul travels twice a week on work, he continues to be a star:-)

Books
Should read all Saratchandra novels.
I have completed reading Great Expectations. My heart tugged ever so often, as i read the novel - sometimes for Pip, sometimes for Betty, sometimes for Joe and so on... Din’t like, Estella even in the end.
As usual, I caressed the pages of Emma while I was reading it. Austen, you are the best:-))
Off Hardy yet again, actually I was never fond of him. I started seriously reading Woodlanders, but then soon found myself pecking at it and ’completed’ it like it was a transaction to be done.
Have joined the local library and read about 4ish books written by English authors, I have forgotten the names of the books as well as the authors:-) Well, books were so so.
Read ’Anna of the Five Towns’ by Arnold Bennett. Did not find anything interesting in that book. I am surprised at the way people[writers] change between one book and the other. Old Wives’ Tales is one of the top 100 books in one of BBC’s nationwide surveys, where as ’Anna of...’ had nothing to boast of; both authored by the same person.

Movies
Watched Parineeta, well - have had my quota of a good movie of this year... After aeons, have I had a good new movie to watch. Hmmm, the last that I can remember was Kal Ho Na Ho in the cinema halls and Raincoat at home...
Hated Bunty aur Babli, decided against Sarkar. As I said earlier, my movie quota of the year is met:-)
Still feeling bad for Jennifer, even today i hope that she and Brad will reconcile. July 29th would have been their 5th wedding anniversary

Work
Been so hectic in the last 5 months, very stressful on self. Kind of hated the work, needed experience of working from the customer site, but I understand (and i can admit this only to myself) that my skills are in Delivery Management than in customer facing roles.
Have had a relaxing time at office only since late last week, I should say.
Hoping my next assignment will be better than the current one

Others
Internet hits on Amir, Kajol, Princess Di, Jen n Brad n Jolie, Rahul Bose would have astronomically increased since late last week.
I did some surfing on Vikram Seth too, which means it is time to read ’A Suitable Boy’.
I would be reading another Dickens soon.
Oops, how did I forget this - Rahul and I have been at Su Doku puzzles like crazy
