Twisted Logic -- Why to remain in Iraq

Posted: Aug 24, 2005 Wed 04:17 pm     Views: 147

Twisted Logic -- America invaded Iraq to uncover weapons of mass destruction. There were no WMDs in Iraq. Oops, next rationale -- "we’re there to bring Democracy to Iraq". Now it looks as though the new Iraqi "democracy" is actually going to be an Islamic theocracy with women having few rights.

Said Mr. Bush yesterday in answer to why are we still in Iraq. -- "To leave Iraq now would be to dishonor the men and women who have already died there. We owe them something." added the President, "We will finish the task that they gave their lives for."

Bush repeatedly attempted to connect Iraq with Al-Qaeda, but there never was any connection. So we’re now in Iraq because so many Americans have already died in Iraq. That’s logic?

Yesterday Mr. Bush left his vacation home at Crawford ranch for a speaking tour in an effort to bolster his sagging popularity at the polls. Americans don’t read newspapers any more, but somehow the idea is getting across to the populace that the Bush presidency is edging toward disaster.
