Time ticks on

Posted: Sep 29, 2005 Thu 08:14 am     Views: 73

The weather has conspicuously changed in the last week or so. It is getting colder; i have to wear my jacket whilst i am outdoors. It is cloudier and, i feel, murkier too.

With my new assignment, well let us see - the bad points first! Travel time has increased by an hour and a half roughly (one-way), food is yukk. Good points: Work is interesting and challenging - that is the key and i am contented. The customer group works in a collaborative mode and not nit-picking. So far so good. While on the evening train, i read. And the sweetest part is i sleep in the morning part of my journey, well isn’t that great!! The amazing thing about this place is 90% of the people around you are voracious readers - that you feel one in the crowd. In fact, people read while they are even standing on moving trains, some read even while they are walking. Na, I have not attempted either of these options to read.

Recently had been to Bath where i visited the Secession book store and within no time was the proud owner of 3 novels of Jane Austen packed into one book. Lady Susan (i had read this book about five years ago on the internet), Watsons and the Sanditon. The last two books were never finished by Austen. So now, I am more than interested in watching Pride and Prejudice.

....

Now, i have watched the movie and loved every bit of it. The movie was just wonderful. Not sure how long it took them to make this movie, but it is awesome how they come up with such closeness to the novel. We were even shown the trailer of ’Oliver Twist’ directed by Roman Polanski - probably that will be my next movie to watch. Let us see how it feels to watch a movie of a book one has never read.

Talking about books almost always derails me :-) Do i do anything else? Well, i dabble in cooking new stuff too, sometimes ;-) Another new thing that i am doing is visiting people and inviting people over. Anyways, time is going too fast for me; work is good, parents are doing well - though my Father’s health could have been better, i am getting to spend quality time with Rahul esp during weekends. He continues to be a gem.
