So I went to a Mehndi this weekend.

after the usual food and rusm part...they said..oho jaga khali karo..belly dancing hogi..
initially I thought it was ballet...you know where thin young girls dance standing on their big toes in pink phoolay huay short frocks...
khair there I see this lady in her late 50s wearing a ghagra with gota kinari...She was a gori. She had this big dupatta wrapped around her.
music started and she started dancing and then she threw away the dupatta...
Everybody gasped !!

It was a good thing that we all had dinner before. because I dont think anybody could eat after that.

She had huge boobs in golden bra which was fine. Her waist was big. which was okay too.
but then came her tond and the love handles.
The tond was huge. no it was HUGE !!!!!... Taaa hud e nazar...it was just tond hi tond. Just like those Sumo wrestlers. and since it was ’belly’ dancing , the object of attention and focus was obviously the tond.
The tond had a life..a personality of its own...it was going left and right up and down...and even if the woman stood still , the tond would not. The size the volume the mass of the tond was so much that I am sure , few of the newborns could have been created from it.
Somehow I also kept thinking of a Physics equation...mass volume momentum velocity kept going round and round in my head.

I was also amazed at the woman’s desire of showing that tond to a bunch of strangers. No she did it for free. She knew the bride somehow.

Maybe if it was done by a young khoobsoorut woman with a decent tummy , it would have not been that bad. but the whole dance just made me feel sick to my stomach.
My first reaction was kai Amreeka mai hur eik rizk kuma sukta hai...but then when I found out she was doing it for free , I realized she actually liked doing what she was doing...

khair..
