Tom & Jerry Show

Posted: Dec 17, 2005 Sat 01:25 am     Views: 51

This has been the bad dilemma of Pakistan since Pakistani got freedom, that Pakistani politics didn’t play any big role in the history of Pakistan. But beside it army has done the trick. We can take a look on the history.

1947-57: -

Let’s take when Pakistan came into being 14th august 1947 it was the biggest day for the Muslims of sub-continent. They were free to enough to spend their lives according to whatever they want. So I was talking about the politics let’s get back towards the main point. When Pakistan came into being Quaid-I-Azam was the first Governor-General of Pakistan. He was doing the great job since he took as the president of Muslim League and also afterwards when Pakistan came into being. But unfortunately Pakistan lost the ever-best leader. I believe he was the best leader in the history of Pakistan and also for the future. We cannot have any leader like him at least in near future.
Well! Beside it Liaquat ali khan was choose as the first prime minister of Pakistan. Now after 1948 you will get the mixture and shake (whatever you like I leave it up-to you) of Pakistani politics. When Jinnah passed away khuwaja Nazimuddin became the Governor-General of Pakistan in 1948, and the after how Khuwaja Nazimuddin was choose for prime minister in 1951. I won’t go into detail either he selected the prime minister seat or he was choose by public or by some other sources, because it is a long discussion even another article can be written. And then in 1951 Ghulam Muhammad became the Governor-General of Pakistan. Oh my GOD! Then in 1953 we had the Muhammad Ali Bagora as the prime minister. Now you guess what? We suffered with lots of changing leadership after Quaid-I-Azam passed away. According to me we have four to five change in five years on the top level leadership if we start talking about internal politics this will take the whole database of chowk to describe.

(Here I will not discuss about why leader left the leading ship because it is totally a different topic)

Then in 1955 Ch. Muhammad Ali became the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Iskandar Mirza as the Governor-General. After one year difference means in 1956 H.S Suhrawardy became the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Mr. Iskandar Mirza changed his profession as president. Oh GOD! Again change it looks like Pakistani nation paid more attention in changing leaders instead of developing. Again after one year difference in 1957 Chundrigar became the prime minister of Pakistan. Oops this is hell; in 1957 we have one more change, as Malik Feroz khan became the prime minister.

After ten years of freedom we took the lots of advantage and some of our elders enjoyed a lot by changing their leaders again and again. In 10 years from 47-57 we have at least 15 changing as President Governor-General and Prime Minister. We find change in our leaders as people change their dresses. So I mean to say there is no difference between changing dresses and leaders in Pakistan’s history.

1958-69: -

After ouster of President Iskandar Mirza for some reason I think the first martial law came in under Field Marshal Ayub khan for your years 1958-1962. And then Mr. Ayub khan became the President of Pakistan. He decreed as President for seven years so accumulatively he decreed for eleven years. Wow surprisingly longest period of dictatorship by any leader but unfortunately by army person. But still we have president election in 1965. I don’t know what they were for.

1969-77: -

In start of next era unluckily we have Martial law again under the General Yahya Khan. He remained dictator for two years. For the first time in 1970 general election were held and we Mr. Bhutto as our president, and don’t forget that we have separation of east Pakistan in 1971. He did lots of work for the Pakistan but unhappily we have again change as Mr. Bhutto liked the Prime Minister Post for himself and Fazal Ilahi became the prime minister in 1973. (First ever propered law of Pakistan was applied and designed in the period of Mr. Bhutto)
And then again we have general election in 1977 and in the same year the ouster of Mr. Zulafiqar ali bhutto happened.

1977-85: -

Oh my GOD! We were supposed to face again the Martial law in 1977 under the General Zia-ul-Haq. I don’t know what did happen with election, which happened in the same year. He also did lots of work for Pakistan and then we were up-to face first ever Referendum in 1984. And then it take didn’t long time when again we saw the change when Mr. Muhammad khan Junego was choose for the Prime Minister and his period of tyranny was three years (1985-88), and some how in 1988 an incident happened in the air and we got nothing in it except losing our some men, and I think that was the end of Mr. Junego as well.

1988-98: -

And we have very interesting ten years in which we will see how the politics became the personal war and which destroyed the peace and economy of Pakistan. (This is my observation I may be wrong.)

This is again the mixture or shakes whatever you like….
As in the history of Pakistan Miss. Baynazir Bhutto was choose for the Prime Minister of Pakistan first women leader and in the same year Mr. Ghulam Ishak khan became the President of Pakistan but unluckily this couldn’t work for the longer period of time as we have caretaker Prime Minister in the form of Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi in 1990. In the same year Mr. Nawaz Sharif took the dictatorship as the Prime Minister of Pakistan but unluckily again we were forced to choose Mr. Balak Shah Mazari as caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan in 1993 but this also couldn’t work and in the same year we have one more change now in the shape of caretaker Prime Minister, when Mr. Moin Quershi became the caretaker Prime Minister in 1993.
Now here starts the Tom & Jerry show. When Miss.Baynazir Bhutto became the Prime Minister again in the same year 1993. And with her Mr. Sardar Laghari took the dictatorship as the president in Pakistan in 1993. As I told you it is Tom & Jerry show so don’t worry because we have again change when Mr.Miraj Khalid took the tyranny in 1996, and then again we were up-to face Tom o sorry I mean to say Mr. Nawaz sharif and in period of Nawaz Sharif some event happened and one of the most famous and sad event was Kargil offensive.
(Now there is some advertisement going on in Tom & Jerry show )

1999-. : -

1999 to 2001 I think so I am not sure about it we endured again in Marshal law under the tyranny of Mr. Musharraf and once more we had to vote in referendum when Mr. President asked for the favor.
He also has done the lots of work…this is separate issue either positive or negative….
But now he is ruling our Pakistan and let see till how long he will rule.
