Right in the middle of writing something I suddenly had a thought... this here is Valentine’s Day and here we are in NYC. everyone i know has a Valentine’s Day story... mine is a sad, sad tale that i only tell people when i want some sympathy.

So i went online, to craigslist and looked at the personals section. I dont know if you’ve ever done that but that place has some really interesting people on there. Its amazing to me that anonymity can bring out the kind of plain, unvarnished truth that those people display. I mean, there they are and they’re not pretendint to be cooler than they are, or better than they are or more noble... ok, so maybe some of them are trying to be more cool but thats natural isnt it? Who wants to sleep with a geek?

And thats what most of the personals are all about - someone to fuck. And i’m not using the term gratuitously here as I often do but in the literal sense of the word - intercourse, plain and simple, nothing more, nothing less. Everything out there in the open on the page in front of you.

So I go there and I post an ad and ask them if this has ever worked out for them. Have they ever found someone on the internet and had sex with them? have they ever posted and then chickened out at the last minute? How was it? Tell me all. Anonymity gauranteed.

Half an hour later, I idly check my mail as i finish my break and prepare to go back to work. Three new messages. One asks me to call him, the other two send in their stories. Wow.

So if you’re one of those mysterious people who read my ilog and have a story about internet dating to tell, drop me a line at immortal.goddess@gmail.com.

The stories might be published on my blog. Just so you know. And of course, anonymity guaranteed. i wont even write back to you if you tell me so otherwise i’ll drop u a line that gives you the link to my blog.
