Blah Blah Blah

It is almost 3:30 at night and I am not sleepy. No, I am neither depressed nor thinking anything profound (blah you pseudo-intellectuals). So nations are warning North Korea on possible nuclear tests and Chevrolet Impala is the top scorer in side crash tests. Well, that’s on CNN. Thank you very much for increasing my general knowledge. Not that I needed to know that. I mean, think about it. I don’t have an Impala and of all cars why would I ever want to get one? And what about North Korea. They don’t even have a decent embassy in Pakistan. Why would anyone care about all this more than the real issues like the FIFA world cup? The world badly needs context and relevance in everything. And I love Geico insurance ads. There is so much suffering in the world – war, famine, watching a bearded Junaid Jamshed giving lecture on Islam on TV. Imagine a clean-shaved Qazi Hussain Ahmed giving a lecture on whatever comes to your imagination. Ok, anything but what just came to your imagination. I spent the day cleaning up the house, fixing a 5-year old laptop (after unsuccessfully trying Windows Vista Beta 2 on it) and singing Metallica songs in karaoke mode of Windows Media Player. Heavy metal is the only mode in which I can actually try singing. Sigh! And that was not all. I even changed the bed sheets. “Wasim Bhai, aap thaktay nahi?” “Nahi, mein sigrat nahi peeta.” That was from some anti-smoking campaign in Pakistan. Maybe same applies to me, although I did get tired, and I don’t smoke. What fun! Now I better sleep. Hopefully, next time I will write something more useful than this blog and the brain of George Bush.
