yehudi stereotypes

tom friedman - a foreign policy expert held in great esteem in the u.s. has this to say about the recent developments in the m.e.

http://select.nytimes.com/2006/07/14/opinion/14friedman. html

"....Why don’t the silent majorities punish these elected Islamist parties for working against the real interests of their people? Because those who speak against Hamas or Hezbollah are either delegitimized as “American lackeys’’ or just murdered, like Rafiq Hariri, the former Lebanese prime minister.

yet according to a survey whose results were published in friedman’s own newspaper, reality is a little bit different. apparently large sections of the muslim population, majority even, actually agree with the tactics of the iranian and syria backed "islamic" parties:

http://select.nytimes.com/search/restricted/article?res= F70D11F634550C708EDDAF0894DE404482

"...But many pointed to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians as the main cause and accused the West of double standards on terrorism.

...Majorities in the Muslim world, Pew said, also expressed the opinion that the victory of the militant group Hamas in Palestinian elections in January would "be helpful to a fair settlement between Israel and the Palestinians"

interesting also the views of the citizens of uncle sam’s major allies in the m.e.

"...Pew asked respondents to give their opinions of Christians, Muslims and Jews, and it found anti-Jewish sentiment to be "overwhelming" in the Muslim countries surveyed. It reached 98 percent in Jordan and 97 percent in Egypt..."

question therefore arises why would friedman misrepresent facts in his columns? since yehudis are supposed to be smart, its highly unlikely that friedman would pen a major piece without checking his facts. the other trait associated with yehudis is cunning. i leave it for you to decide whether this trait applies in the case of friedman or not.
