Winter makes me shiver , alright, but since I read Karluk , I have started taken the winter of michigan as a blessing. The poor 20 some men at karluk were trapped in arctic for over a year with limited provisions, extremest weather and little hope. It was only a book but just reading all that made me shiver in my cozy couch.

These are the people who value exploration and whom we owe much of our knowledge to. Wandering around in different corners of the world, aimless , ignorant of the dangers ahead, in search of something unknown. If not any other works, everyone should atleast read about the various explorations that went to the north pole and the south pole to know how difficult survival can be.
