Ashraf Qazi’s ’40 Siparas’

KARACHI (Online) - Federal Education Minister Javed Ashraf Qazi apparently does not know how many ‘Siparas’ are there in the Holy Quran.
On Wednesday responding to a question by a TV anchor of a private TV channel in its morning show, the education minister, who is also retired General of Pak Army and ex-chief of ISI, said that now a student would complete 40 ‘Siparay’ of Holy Quran from Class III to VIII in school and now the children would not need to go to ‘madrassahs’ for learning the Holy Quran. The anchor surprised over the minister apparent ignorance, asked him how many Siparay they would learn, the minister replied 40 ‘Siparay’.
Astonished and surprised over the minister reply, when the lady anchor for the third time said she believed that there were 30 ‘Siparay’ in the Holy Quran, then Javed Ashraf shaking his head apologised and corrected himself by saying, “Oh I am sorry”.

His only task is to "tailor the Pakistani curriculum" as suggested by US & UK. (Tony Blair on recent visit announced exact amount provided to Pakistan in this regard).
