This's what I was saying all the while & that's the legal position. I am writing this after reading the India Independence Act 1947 and got this corroborated with Jinnah's speech (giving u a YouTuve audio/video) of 15th August 1947.
Pakistan celebrated her Independence on 15th Aug 1948,49,50 & 51( I dont know beyond that year).
Pl listen to What Jinnah said. Yes, It's 15th Aug the Day of Independence.
The Times newspaper wrote:
Pakistan is officially born at mid-night tonight (at 00.00 hrs of 15th August 1947) when ther'll be blowing of sirens and hooters and a ringing of bells. Tomorrow Mr. Jinnah will be sworn-in. Pl listen to what Mr. Jinnah said on 15th August 1947.

By all means it's India's Independence Day and for Pakistan it's her Formation Day after India was formally PARTITIONED.
If ppl know the meaning of 'partition', there'd be no confusion in understanding the above stuff.
Now, would Pakistan change their day of celebrations to 15th August every year?
