The case of female prostitution

Posted: Aug 15, 2007 Wed 04:54 pm     Views: 323    Interacts: 2

Crack whore, streetwalker, brothel worker, call girl, escort, porn star, stripper, professional cheerleader, young actress/entertainer, cocktail waitress, unemployed girlfriend/wife.

Responses to the above range from despising to tolerating to celebrating, but the underlying similarity remains: a way of sustaining herself based on her anatomy.

Sure the brothel worker may rise up to be a madam, in charge of operations and money flow. The actress/female entertainer may become the centerpiece of the show, valuable for the box office. And the young wife may surround herself with children and responsibilities deemed essential to the man's well being. But the dependence on her anatomy to sustain herself speaks of an imbalance in power and resources.

Lesser minds would speak of a problem and even present a solution. But no brothel worker would look at an unemployed wife and feel an emotion other than envy for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

shobig,

Since you took the time to think (guess??) and interact, please elaborate further as to why the comparison is 'slightly' faulty.

I guess the case of an unemployed wife is essentially different from the rest. This comparison is slightly faulty.
