Talking about rape, think of the woman in pinjar who had a chance to leave but decided her life lay where she already was.
I still think Islam was spread mainly by violence, but I can see that generations later, no one forces you to stay in it. so while your ancestors may have been forced, or some of them at least, you have not been and to me that is the important thing. i am trying to practise mindfulness and the here and now these days.
......................................
For one focussed media fim there are 100 muslim women who married to hindu punabi and sikhs the off spring of whos still remember that there mothers were Muslims .I met many in England and the famous ones are Mahesh Bhatts And Asha Parekhs mother.Pinjar was focussing only on one community

"So I could be a strip bar owner and interpret the Book to suit my needs. But that is not how God could have intended it.'Kaal

I did not read all the posts .Above ALL intrpretation which are supect BY U there is this utmost basic and basline belief in muslim that "who Knows God Alone" you are assuming that koran is sort of equation if you eat pork you defenitely go to hell. One just may be circumstances .Again who knows who will go to hell. You are trying to test God with sceince barometer not only science is not religion and you can keep on trying to predict what eqution god follows b/c there is no equation .This what i have learnt from my peers only.If you proceed wiht backwards you end up with God himself ultimately deciding .There are of course drils with hope tat it may help but not guaranteed
