Attitude

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearly there is objective evidence that Islamophobia is a thing that is
widely feared at the emotional level and therefore exists in that sense. I
was just addressing the logical validity of the concept, based on a
collectivity known as 'Islam' or 'Muslims.' For the Islamophobia concept to
be logically valid, there is no question that one would have to posit a
collectivity called 'Islam' or 'Muslilms.'

Not having read myself, it is still possible to have a little fun with
the question of whether or not it makes sense to ask for Muslims' opinion
when his writing is at best peripherally about Islam or Muslims.
Should we, for example, say that it is absurd to ask whether there is a
Christian view of J.K. Rowling, since her books are completely silent on
Christianity (other than having Christmas as an event in the books)?

I mean, isn't it simpler (in the sense of more intellectually manageable) to
just say that any identifiable group may have an attitude about anything
(without complicating it with the content of that thing), though that
attitude may not always be determinable or quantifiable?
