Taking que from sonofkashmir,
Wing Comd Mervyn Middlecote remains a war hero for Pakistan in both 1965 and 1971 wars. Born in Lahore and educated at St. Anthony's, his positive demeanour and towering personality could have made him a celebrity anywhere.
He was one of the ace F-104 pilots and was rewarded with a Sitata e Jurat for his gallantry in 1965.
In 1971, he carried out many bombing raids into India and was hit when the war was coming to an end. There are many rumours regarding his ejection into India, but was formally delared missing believed killed and awarded Sitara e Jurat posthumously.
This month it is 36 years since his family last saw him. May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in Peace.
