Got this excerpt of a Ben Stein interview on Trinity Radio from NRO Online via Andrew Sullivan (www.andrewsullivan.com):
Stein: When we just saw that man, I think it was Mr. Myers [i.e. biologist P.Z. Myers], talking about how great scientists were, I was thinking to myself the last time any of my relatives saw scientists telling them what to do they were telling them to go to the showers to get gassed … that was horrifying beyond words, and that’s where science — in my opinion, this is just an opinion — that’s where science leads you.
[Paul] Crouch: That’s right.
Stein: …Love of God and compassion and empathy leads you to a very glorious place, and science leads you to killing people.
Crouch: Good word, good word.
This guy started out as a comedian. For some strange reason he is being marketed as an economist and investor. Every now and then I have to see his ugly face spouting either nonsense, or entirely vacuous commentary on interest rates FX rates, credit crunch and the like on CNBC. Now we find that he is also whoring as a for-hire Luddite on behalf of the Right Wing Christian fundamentalists.

cant stop laughing ... what a cheapstake, the check bounced!!!
springer was, what they call a 'weak mayor' of cincinatti. just like the wrestler-mayor of minneapolis.
Ben Stein's columns in Yahoo Finance are awesome. I especially love reading the ones where he used to build up the real estate bubble. The columns are almost as funny as the quotes of David Lereah - ex-economist for the NAR.
yep, he is a fukking comedian. and the next thing you know, he now has a regular financial advice column on yahoo finance.
and then there is jerry springer, who was the mayor of cincinnati (?) and now runs the trashiest show on TV, and for future is contemplating running for a US senate seat
