Hunger forces humans to start eating dirt!

Posted: May 1, 2008 Thu 11:09 am     Views: 233    Interacts: 0

Hamza mentioned in one of his posts that everyone on chowk makes 500K. Well if you do, please donate to the world food programme. Even if you don't, please donate what you can.

There is a global food crisis and people have resorted to eating dirt.

My previous thread http://chowk.com/unplugged/t/52598

has a sample story and a link to the world food program. You can read more about the crisis there. IT's happening all over the world. So please donate whatever you can.

Yup, Pakistan is suffering immensely as well. The crisis has spread through Asia in the form of rice and wheat shortages / high prices ...and corn in latin america.

The UN world Food Program, while true that these people eat away a lot of the donations for the fancy suvs and offices and salaries...is still the only thing that can respond to this quickly.

Please share if you find local links. But here are some larger bodies...

I'll post more as I find more.
