Pakhtoonkha ?

There was a heated debate going on amongst certain politicians at one of the TV channels on the subject the other day. The participants on both sides of the divide came up with strong arguments both in support of and against the case. Topic under discussion was whether we should proceed with the change of name as far as North Western Frontier Province is concerned?

I understand it might be a matter of concern for the "Hindku" speaking population of the Hazara but then we have similar situations in the rest of the provinces as well.

But isn’t it appropriate to name a seemingly “nameless” territory? Would someone please enlighten me on the subject for my own understanding? I would particularly appreciate if the native folks speak their minds on the matter.

Excellent point made and a very valid observation.

The name "Khyber" represents a balanced view in my humble opinion, other region based, language based or nationality bases names suggested offer just another issue that is like driving wedges among people.
Lets be sincere in opting for a name that represents us united and not divided along some petty themes that comes back to haunt all of us, again.
