Islam, Muslims, Jannat, and the musings of our hindu friend Laddu _

Posted: May 29, 2008 Thu 09:07 pm     Views: 229    Interacts: 1

Laddu sahib, an avowed enemy of the momin (but secretly years for becoming a momin in his heart), posted a thougtful post that I commented back on:

Laddu sahib, you will find that minus the bile, your thoughts are not that far from a muslim's thoughts.

"The point is that even if a Sunnat following muslim follows the entire script to the hilt - including bending 5 times automatically and saying praises to the Allah like a record player he gets nowhere near his heavens."

indeed, no-one expects just automated repetition to get you anywhere. In fact this is stressed quite a lot in Islam. Including sunnat and hadith. So you are in agreement with an islamic pov there.

Even silently repeating the 1000 names of Allah in the mind while thinking about how to kill an idolator like me or blowing bombs in kafir world makes it even worse.

Again, agreed. In fact a muslim is not supposed to kill anyone unless it is in self defense. And things like the suicide bomb are not allowed by islamic laws of engagement for war. Many wahabis will disagree with me, there is another reason for that, a political reason, we can get to that on another post.

So, I am just repeating what every prophet said that outward imitation of any prophet in the name of sunnat does not turn the person into a person on the path of the prophet.

Seems like you've been reading up on Islam. Your ideas are in synch so far

Then, whether living in cages is important of not is some thing that an intelligent person like you should NOT disparage considering the fact the even Mohammad could achieve the state where the revelations occured ONLY because he started meditating in the Hira Caves.

I don't know what the reference is to. However, there is a fundamental difference of opinion here between the hindu tradition and the islamic one. In hinduism, one is supposed to be okay with injustice cause one is told that you can deal with it in the next janam, or you will have a better life. In Islam, we must always rise up against injustice and oppression.

An unrelated point: Islam also has a strong tradition of meditation, and yes meditation in a cave is a wonderful thing as well. It is as if you are in the bosom of the mountain itself.

Remember, for a hindu that Sanyas is the last stage of life where the fourth and last part of Vedas or Upanishads (Vedanta) , in which the formless Brahman Jnana is described should be practiced.

Dunno what you're saying here, but if you are saying that you want to worship a formless God, then you are welcome...in the end, all labels really point to the same entity....

The formless Brahman CANNOT be experienced so easily in the this samsara while lusting for slave women and the loots of the kafir world.

Lusting after anything will not let you experience peace in this world or the next. So we are encouraged to consider the material world as a temporary illusionary world, and not get too attached to it....

The formless Brahman CAN ONLY be realized in the solitude of a cave , devoid of kama, krodha , lobha and moha and hinduism (including Buddhism and Jainism) emphasises these aspects of sanyaas repeatedly.

I don't know what the lobha, krodha, etc are, but the formless can be experienced anywhere, for the formlesss is everywhere. So you don't need to be in a cave, or be devoid of all worldliness...in fact one must be in this world, but not of it.

That is why I assert that muslims would NEVER attain their jannah with all that hatred, lust and avengeful attitude towards others that certainly is an impediment in the attainment of formless deity."

I agree. In fact even hindus with their violence and hatred and castism and female baby killing, and bride burning, and widow killing, cannot expect any jannah or freedom from the suffering based incarnation.

May we all be kind and connect with the ONE.
