Are the women onto something? Do they know something men don't know?

Posted: Jun 18, 2008 Wed 01:36 pm     Views: 338    Interacts: 9

to all the intellectuals on chowk: Kaal, Publius, Raw_Dust, DostMittar, guru, etc

Dear intellectuals, while you exercise the mushy gray matter about what is God and what is not God and what's reality and what's not reality, and whether religion is what you heard or what you thought (it's neither btw, it's what your soul FELT), AHEM.....

Have you guys ever wondered why we don't see too many women in these dialogs? Okay, you'll blame the monotheistic religions for being patriarchal, moving women out of positions of power etc, but what about hinuds? Why don't hinuds have women priests brahmins?

Any way....did you guys wonder why the men masterdebate each other on the nature and practice of religion and God, but the women have no time for these masterdebations? Maybe they know something that we don't? Maybe they're on to something?

Men are mostly obsessed with clarity and legalism. Women seem to be more in tune with fuzzy logic. Both attempt to treat religion in accordance with thier outlook, one going for contentious precision, the other for more latitude and acceptance.

(PS:- I am talking strictly off the top of my head :-)).

Aha! Now I know why Deepak Chopra's so successful ;).

Kaal bhai, the mind enslaves, the heart frees.

perhaps, you too can benefit from listening to your heart more than you listen to your head?

The heart can understand things the mind may never....

Ha Ha Ha!! :) :)

Chalo, let's leave this bakwas ki debate behind.

My frank opinion is that women are probably more 'spiritual' but they are certainly are NOT more analytical or philosophical than men in any sense.

Even their 'increased' spirituality may not be all a positive factor.

It may do them (and others) good, but by the same token it may also more likely, sucker them into all manner of spiritual/religious foolishness, and may make them postpone reaching unpleasant conclusions even if those conclusions appear to be true.

Essentially, I see them as more susceptible to being vicitimzed by simple religious tricksters and fake religious ideologies.

Deepak Chopra should know. Women are where it is at for anyone who wants to get into the business of religion. :)

Sorry! Just my mcp opinion. Forgive me, my friend!

Kaal bhai,

is bhagwan a man? or brahma? I forget which one....

Brothers, a simple answer may be - most women simply don't get it.

Is there any reason to believe otherwise? Let's not forget, even God is a man. :)

Women usually are a bit more patient than men. They are usually not interested in picking out details in a discussion, rather look at the whole picture.

A holistic view of life, religion, god tends to imbue an understanding of these phenomenon in which heated discussions about whose phallus is bigger are completely irrelevant.

I use the phallas image because men's egos are connected to their you know what, and they tend to personalize most such discussions.

Kaal bhai,

I am not popular on chowk, and have no desire to be popular. I am rightfully considered a moorakh and simpleton by many.

the question is not what women understand or not or what men understand or not.

the question is: why do women abstain from masterdebation about religion while men indulge in it lustfully?

please give it some thought and reply again :)

On chowk one boosts one's popularity ratings by simply agreeing with such statements, but I would love to hear, from any man or woman, the answer to the following:

Women don't discuss religion as much as men do because they (1) understand some things that men don't, or (2) don't understand some things that men do.

Why would you/we choose one of the two options over another?

Excellent thought ... yes, they are, they always have been ... I am talking about real women - they connect to realities the way we men cannot; they are closer to nature, (they have to be – because of their physiology) and therefore to deeper realities of life of which we are not. They do not figure out things with logic and intellect, they work out things with feelings and intuition. Man is distant – women are close. Man is linear, women are circular. Someone has said; look at the state of the world - that is man's world. If women had a chance the world would be totally different. It could be heaven on earth. Have anyone seen a TV program shown on PBS about bonobos - one type of apes in deep jungles of Africa. In their grouping, females are the directors / managers. Those groups are most loving, affectionate and caring groups - unlike male dominated chimps – aggressive, spiteful and brutal. The most interesting part was that when and if an inter- group war or battle start ensuing, the females defuse it by inviting males affectionately to their side and they start having sex. The aggressive group start following the suit, and there is no more war – and then they start sharing the food or whatever caused the problem – Isn’t that beautiful - genuine healthy sex an expression of real love avoids bloodshed and mayhem. This program is worth watching.
Our world will start changing when men will start listening to women's heart. Not an easy task for men.
Then, what about learning from animals like bonobos? Ego problem?? Intellectuals wanted.
