On Sangdil: Apparently it is based on Jane Eyre. Another web source (I forgot where) said it is based on Wuthering Heights which is a different story by another of Bronte sisters. A user on IMDB who currently uses the userID of Unwanted_Birdtamer based in United States considers Sangdil as one of the few adaptations of Bronte's novel which has kept in the religious/spirituality aspect of Jane's character, and showed how important her faith and those values were to her; which also explains why she chooses to leave Rochester. Without that aspect of her character, I don't think her reasoning is fully explained, and so I was glad to finally see a version which kept that in. He writes that "Once it [the movie] gets to the second half, it is much more faithful to the novel, and even includes elements that many other adaptations have left out." [emphasis added by me].
I have read Jane Eyre long back but unselfconsciously. I was not exactly looking for "faith" aspects. And I am not christian so I hardly can read between lines like they can. It could be that the IMDB reviewer has not read Wuthering and first half might be a lose adaptation of Wuthering.
