MUMBAI: The sessions court on Tuesday has sentenced a servant to life imprisonment in a 2006 triple murder case.

Additional sessions judge R U Deshmukh has sentenced Rohidas Gangurde (22) to life imprisonment and has imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for murdering a housewife and her two children as well as for robbery.

Gangurde has been convicted for murdering his employer Vivek Gadgil's wife and two children after Gadgil slapped him for a tardy job.

On June 13, 2006 Gangurde entered Gadgil's house at the suburban Borivali area and stabbed Vaidehi Gadgil (30), Amay Gadgil (8) and Chinmay Gadgil (2).

Gangurde also robbed some gold ornaments from the house and fled away.

He was arrested after a week and all the ornaments and sickle was recovered from him.

According to the prosecution, Gangurde was employed as a delivery boy at Vivek Gadgil's stationery shop at Dadar since April 2003.

However, a week after Gadgil had a tiff with Gangurde after the servant failed to show appropriate receipts of the delivered goods, Gadgil in a fit of anger slapped Gangurde, who quit the job.

Gangurde however, in June, allegedly with a motive of revenge went to Gadgil's house and murdered his family.
