What sort of place was that? What kinda people were they? OK the first one is my creation (Sorry). The second one is what i heard at workplace. No puns intended by disgracing such a beautiful couplet. Actually i was taunting myself. All the good poets’ anthologies could be found on my shelf. I often indulge in reading/highlighting my favourite verses. BUT ---- when the time comes to quote im dumb, totally barren. Instead of rendering toota phoota shair i prefer to remain quiet.
A friend of mine adores Faiz and apparently she can virtually adore every that person who frequently quotes Faiz during convos. i also want to impress that friend. i've read Faiz but my inability to remember nazams/ghazals keep me from that. For now i’d say, ‘Teri soorat se hai aalam main baharon ko sabaat / Teri aankhon ke siwa duniya main rakha kiya hai’
Never mind! nuskha hai wafa is in front of me, wide open, page number 61. im quoting from it.
