Musharraf is a smart politician or a shrewd soldier, I don’t know? What I do know for certainity which is also now a proven fact that our coalition leaders are STUPID and GREEDY. Every time when they had chance to beat him they fell for his trap. All his moves are meticulously planned with great timings.
Now the top leaders of Pakistan once again meeting behind close doors. This exercise is increasingly becoming frustrating to people of Pakistan because of its incessant fruitless series of episodes like some cheap ‘Soap Opera’. We have witnessed this circus so many times that it has lost its due regard, importance and speedily diminishing our hopes. But this time the chief ring master has also fastened his ‘langoat’ to show his tedious skills once again. The final strike, the not so hidden last blow, is about to be executed.
Since 18th feb.2008 people of Pakistan were set for an emotional roller coaster ride by our elected politicians. Our hopes were high and we began dreaming. They shattered our dreams once again. But it was poor and naïve people’s choice. APDM leaders called for a boycott. Like me, many of APDM supporters backed their call and wisely opted out. Had PML-N at that time would’ve jointly supported APDM the situation would have been different. But our great leaders had lost that chance.
APDM knew those were sham elections, another trap from Musharraf. “By contesting those we are legitimatizing Musharraf’s phony unconstitutional government, very well said by IK. In those days everybody did talk about deals between PPP and Musharraf. Therefore there participation was known. Pakistani’s had hopes from Nawaz Sharif to stand beside the aspirations of people of Pakistan. But ‘Buddhoo’ or greedy (what to say) Nawaz Sharif and his party contested in elections, ingeniously engineered by Musharraf and his ‘Jaanisaar, Chalakoo’ allies.
Bibi was brutally assassinated. Nawaz Sharif’s could not emerge as a leader of single largest party, though won with overwhelming majority in the largest province of Pakistan. He had to compromise…forced to form an unusual, unnatural coalition.
Musharraf’s trump card of buying Zardari with NRO triumphed. Zardari back stabbed his new coalition partners once, twice, thrice and …still to be continued.
APDM and Lawyer’s Movement resumed fresh struggle against betrayal of people’s mandate. People of Pakistan were grilled and groveled under the tremendous burden of inflation, food shortage, water and electricity crises and falsely created WAR AGAINST TERROR. It was to shift their focus from state crimes, political manipulations and generalized injustices. But this time media was awakened. Electronic and print media played their role, kept watchful eye on governments’ tilts and shifts and continued building momentum for lawyer’s movement; which surely was thought to be the rescue remedy from the deep problematic puddles Pakistan was in.
Long March was the climax of our struggle. But_______
Musharraf intelligently played his hand, moved his magical fingers and his puppeteers danced on his tune. Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N again could not identify the iceberg placed right in front of their eyes to sink the titanic of ‘Lawyers Movement’.
“Hum to doobein hain sanam, tum ko bhee le doobein ge, means “We have sunken, we will make you sink too. PML-N was deceived and they led ‘Long March’ to a defeat. PML-N has not achieved any goal up-till now, placed on their manifesto. They removed their ministers from governance and ironically remained in the government. Their soul purpose it seemed to harp slogans and have fun…Very much like, ‘Much ado about nothing’.
I plea to the people of Pakistan… to awake, to rise and do not rest our fate anymore to these big fat liars…oops, leaders. We must not depend on the out-come of these meaningless purposeless gatherings. Our leaders, who instead of holding parliament meetings, bringing issue at the floor of parliament, debating, discussing and formulating new policies for the betterment of nation, would organize meetings behind close doors of luxurious hotels and fancy resorts. We have seen them at exotic places with huge protocols. They start ‘MEETINGS’ with hugging, hands shaking, and smiling: wearing branded suits all trim and proper. With their ‘hawaree’ apostles, they have multiple course luncheons, Hi-Tea or dinners. They chat for long hours while media persons along with whole nation get ‘heart burns’ and high blood pressures because of prolonged stress and anxiety. They end their ‘MEETINGS with press conferences, announcing new promises, novel ideas, ingenious plans and methodologies on diverse agendas.
Why all this exercise, these high level congregations, so many thinking tanks_______ just to beat one man?
Despite of all the peoples’ and media support, nation’s mandate, why are our leaders failing us miserably? The answers are many folded but one thing we have realized. Sad, unfortunate but true _______
Musharraf might win again…and winner takes it all.
Mr. Musharraf you are the man; a man with unmatched conspiring wisdom, an epitome of modern tyranny and Pakistan’s unclaimed owner.
“Hail Musharraf!

I agree with u almost. Whatever you have said about Musharraf…… we don’t want any more of such our soldiers/chief executives like Musharraf or Niazi type, who instead of bringing victory bring shame to Pakistan.
BTW BJ I wanted to thank u so much for ur post on my poem ‘An October Girl’. You are right it lacks rhythm and lengthy too but thanks for ur comments. I appreciate you always takes time to read my ‘aainge beinge’ pieces….
Zee brother
You are right. This piece purely reflects my emotional outburst. PPP- Zardari and PML-N it seemed are once again failing us. I hope August will bring us again real Independence from tyrant Military rulers.
I believe with malicious interest and backing of USA ‘Musharraf and his chamche’ could go at any length. They would do all their dirty tricks. Bush and Mush are committed to their goals. But what are our leaders doing. They are continuously shattering our expectations.
You know what I really wish to see…?
I want to see press release after these meetings, announcing that restoration of complete pre third Nov 07 Judiciary through an executive order of Prime Minister is soon on the way… within a day or two in Parliament. No more further dates. It has to be much before the deadline given by Lawyers and before Musharraf could bring his last ‘teeir’ out from his ‘terkish’.
I wish to see Musharraf and his allies, at home and abroad, should be brought to trial. Well… no … after watching the shocking, heart breaking image of our sister Dr. Aafia in the trial court of USA, I actually vision that Musharraf, Chaudhary brothers and Altaf Hussain are brought in front of us; I wish we pull them by hairs, drag them cuffed and chained and then treat these traitors with our ‘jote and chappal and gande ande’…….
Then only our soaring emotions, anger and deep hurts will be healed and come to rest.
I wish to see all deposed Judges restored with grace and dignity. I wish to see culprits of 12th May, Lal Masjid bring to trial. I wish to see all missing person back with their families and esp. Dr. Aafia, not wasting any more second.
Ab to un ke aansoo bhee khushk ho gae hoan ge.
This is what I expect from Nawaz Sharif and his party. I am keeping fingers cross.
Your article is based on emotions. You see it's like this:
1)Benazir/Musharraf reach the 'NRO for Musharraf stays for 5 years' deal, Bush guarantees it's performance by both.
2)After Benazir, Zardari has to honour the terms of the deal and hopes Musharraf will resign on his own through indirect pressure e.g. Murree declaration, various restoration moves and his own anti-Musharraf rhetoric such as Lahore Governor House speech. Miscalculation there.
3)PML-N knows the PPP limitation and that no ill-intention is involved on Zardari's part, and tries to concede as far as possible, Musharraf keeps sabotaging each move through his (or rather USA) loyalists i.e. civil bureaucracy and corrupt politicians e.g. Salman Taseer/Chatha etc.
4)Both know the break-up of coalition will mean interim Government of Musharraf loyalists and thus a stronger Musharraf, and who knows what happens next.
None of the above is my conjecture, but the conclusion of almost all prominent analysts.
All pointers direct in that direction of the win win situation while its not all that difficult to overcome and over-run such naive politicians who are hardly sincere to the cause of Pakistan or it's people, their loyalty lies elsewhere.
