you're welcome. thanks for your interest in my poetry translations.
khakiflash,
the lovelorn punjabi matwaar -woman- from 'pindi
whose lover left for walayet -england- to earn some hundi(money)
is suffering in love waiting for him
debating whether to take a new lover or not
it's his selfishness or her selflessness, I know not
okha langda eh wqat vichoray da
bin yaar guzara kaun karay?
ik dinn howay taan oh lang jaway
saari umar guzara kaun karay?

Time stands still when the lover is far away.
How can one live without a lover?
If it's for a day, it's ok.
But how can one live whole life without a lover?

Thanks for that clarification, Ravi. Even though this particular emotion is beyond my own experience, I do now appreciate it more. More fool me for applying it just to myself! Thanks again.

Shall I show my cards? Why not? I've never had a lover - FACT. ('Encounters/ experiences' yes, - plenty of them!) Not sure I want a lover. Prefer my independence. Is that being selfish?
